Health and Social Services

To find resources for international students in the City of Edmonton who need emergency medical services or doctor's appointments, you can follow these steps:

Contact Your School: Start by reaching out to our international student services or counseling department. We have resources and information for international students regarding healthcare services, insurance coverage, and emergency procedures.

Public Healthcare Services: In Canada, most provinces provide public healthcare services to residents and international students. In Alberta, the program is called Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). Check the official AHCIP website for information on eligibility and how to access healthcare services.

Walk-In Clinics and Hospitals: Edmonton has various walk-in clinics and hospitals all over the city where you can receive medical attention. Research and locate nearby clinics or hospitals and note their contact details. The hospital located closest to our campus is Grey Nuns Hospital, with walk in clinics and pharmacies close-by in the Capilano area.

Emergency Services: In case of a medical emergency, dial 911 for immediate assistance.

Community Resources: Reach out to local community organizations that you may identify with to provide support to international students. They might have information on healthcare services, emergency assistance, and resources tailored to your needs.

Online Directories: Online directories like Google Maps or Yelp can help you find nearby medical clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, and emergency care centres.

Government Websites: The Government of Alberta's official website may have information about healthcare services and resources for international students in the City of Edmonton.

Remember that healthcare resources and information can change, so it's a good idea to confirm details with the sources provided or by contacting the relevant organizations directly. Your school's international student services department can often provide the most accurate and up-to-date information for students in your area.

Post Graduate Work Permit

As you embark on your journey towards studying in Canada, it's important to be informed about the opportunities that await you both in your education and in your future career. At our learning institution, we are committed to providing accurate and transparent information to all prospective international students.

According to the guidelines set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), it is our responsibility to ensure that you are well-informed about the regulations surrounding working and studying in Canada. One key aspect to consider is Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility.

Under the current IRCC regulations, we want to make you aware that international students who choose to attend Private Career Colleges, which Wholistic Health Training falls under are not eligible to receive a Post-Graduation Work Permit upon completing their studies. This is an important consideration when planning your educational journey and your future career aspirations.

We believe that being well-informed empowers you to make the best decisions for your education and your future. While PGWP eligibility might not be applicable in certain cases, we are dedicated to providing you with the support and resources you need to succeed in your chosen path of study.

Feel free to reach out to our dedicated team if you have any questions or need further clarification about this regulation. We are here to guide you through every step of your educational journey, helping you make the most of your time in Canada
